Liquori, who works as a nurse, said passengers were unsure whether there was a risk of fire or further danger, prompting many to evacuate as quickly as possible.

After learning more about the incident, Liquori expressed deep gratitude toward the pilots. She noted that their decision to slow the aircraft significantly before impact likely reduced the severity of the crash.
She emphasized that their quick response may have saved dozens of passengers, even as they lost their own lives in the process.
Another traveler echoed similar sentiments, stating that the pilots did everything possible in the final moments to control the situation and protect those onboard.
Officials respond and investigation underway
Zohran Mamdani addressed the incident, confirming that a full investigation is in progress. He also praised both emergency responders and passengers for remaining calm and assisting one another during the evacuation.
The mayor highlighted how individuals onboard supported each other in a high-stress situation, helping ensure that passengers exited the aircraft safely.
