Trump’s Announcement
On April 2, Trump posted on Truth Social praising Bondi as a “Great American Patriot” and highlighting her work overseeing a crackdown on crime, including historically low murder rates. He framed her exit as a transition to “a much-needed and important new job in the private sector” but offered no detailed explanation for her removal.
Reasons Behind the Firing
According to sources, Trump’s dissatisfaction stemmed from multiple issues. Bondi reportedly faced criticism over her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files and for not targeting certain political opponents aggressively enough. She is the second Cabinet member to be removed in recent weeks, following Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
