‘Little House on the Prairie’ Family Mourns Victor French Jr.
The Little House on the Prairie community is grieving the loss of Victor French Jr., son of beloved actor Victor French, who famously played Mr. Edwards. The heartbreaking news was shared on April 6 via the Little House on the Prairie 50th Anniversary Podcast, hosted by Alison Arngrim, Dean Butler, and Pamela Bob.
Remembering a Life Dedicated to Legacy
Victor French Jr., born in 1960, carried forward his father’s legacy with grace and warmth. The podcast honored him as “a beloved member of the Little House community” who devoted himself to keeping his father’s memory alive for fans. “Thank you, Victor, for the joy you brought to us all,” the statement read, reflecting the deep affection held for him.
Cast Members Share Heartfelt Tributes
Alison Arngrim, who portrayed Nellie Oleson, expressed her sorrow on Facebook: “Our dear Victor Jr. has left us. He was a purveyor of joy… We will miss him very much.” Dean Butler, known for playing Almanzo Wilder, highlighted Victor Jr.’s contributions to fan events, noting his gentle humor, warmth, and dedication to preserving the show’s spirit. Butler revealed that Victor Jr. had been battling cancer, yet his positive energy remained steadfast.
