New Developments as Pima County Deputy Is Taken Into Custody in Guthrie Case

A former deputy sheriff in Pima County, Arizona, is facing serious criminal charges following allegations that have raised major concerns about conduct within law enforcement.

The 22-year-old former deputy, identified as Travis Reynolds, was arrested by Tucson Police and charged with kidnapping after authorities say he allegedly abused his position while transporting a detainee to jail.

Arrest and Court Appearance

Reynolds was taken into custody and later appeared before a judge, where bond was set at $200,000. The court also ordered strict conditions, including no contact with the alleged victim and a prohibition on possessing firearms. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled as the case moves forward.

What Investigators Allege

According to officials, the incident occurred while Reynolds was assigned to transport a female detainee to the Pima County Jail. During the transport, investigators allege that he engaged in inappropriate conduct and made suggestive remarks toward the woman.

Authorities further allege that he offered her a vape device, made comments about potentially assisting her case, and suggested taking her to a hotel. Reports also indicate he showed her explicit material and delayed her processing at the jail while other detainees were booked.
