Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has suggested she may consider another campaign for the White House, signaling a possible return to the national political stage in the 2028 election cycle.
During a recent appearance with the National Action Network, Harris shared that she is actively weighing the idea of running again.
“I might, I might. I’m thinking about it,” she said, adding that her time in office gave her deep insight into presidential responsibilities. “I served for four years being a heartbeat away from the presidency of the United States… I understand what the role demands.”
Her previous campaign in 2024 concluded with a loss to Donald Trump, who returned to the presidency. While Trump has occasionally alluded to future political ambitions, the 22nd Amendment to the United States Constitution prevents any individual from serving more than two terms.
Outlook for the 2028 Presidential Election
Looking ahead to the 2028 presidential race, Harris emphasized that her recent travels across the United States have influenced her perspective. She noted spending significant time in southern states and other regions, engaging with diverse communities and economic concerns.
“I’ve been traveling the country over the past year, including a lot of time in the South,” Harris explained. “One thing is clear to me—the status quo hasn’t been working for many Americans for a long time.”
She stressed that any decision about her political future will be guided by what she believes is best for the public.
“It has to be about the American people,” she said. “I’m thinking carefully about where and how the greatest impact can be made. I’ll keep you updated.”
Comments on Foreign Policy and Iran
In addition to domestic issues, Harris recently addressed international tensions involving Iran. Posting on X, she voiced strong opposition to escalating military involvement.
“Let me be clear: I oppose a regime-change war in Iran,” she wrote. “American troops are being put at risk for what I see as a war of choice.”
She further warned that such actions could threaten regional stability and global relations.
“This is a dangerous and unnecessary risk with American lives,” Harris added. “What we are seeing is not strength—it’s recklessness presented as determination.”
