Bush, Obama Push ‘Friendship’ With Hidden Digs at Trump

Former President George W. Bush is reflecting on one of his most viral moments with former First Lady Michelle Obama. The 79-year-old former Republican president recently had a conversation with his daughter, Jenna Bush Hager, who is a co-host on the “Today” show during “History Talks,” an event sponsored by the History Channel to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary.

On Saturday, April 18, Bush Hager, 44, interviewed all four living former presidents in Philadelphia. The discussion revolved around their experiences in the White House and their messages for the country as it approaches its semiquincentennial, People magazine reported.

During her conversation with her father, which aired on Tuesday, April 21, on “Today,” the 43rd president reflected on his unexpected friendship with Obama. He shared a memorable moment from the late Senator John McCain’s funeral in 2018, when a camera captured him passing what appeared to be a piece of candy to her.
