A devastating industrial fire at a biscuit manufacturing facility near Trikala, in central Greece, has claimed the lives of four workers, according to confirmed reports from Greek authorities and emergency services. The incident unfolded in the early hours of the morning and triggered a major emergency response.

Officials have stated that the cause of the fire remains under investigation, while efforts continue to support the families affected and assess safety conditions at the site.

What Happened at the Industrial Facility

The fire broke out around 4:00 a.m. at the Violanta biscuit factory, located roughly 200 miles north of Athens. Emergency services were alerted after flames were detected inside the industrial complex.

Authorities confirmed that 13 workers were present during the night shift. Eight managed to evacuate safely, while four were later found deceased after firefighters accessed severely damaged sections of the building. One additional worker was initially reported missing during the early stages of the response.
