Turn Kitchen Trash into Treasure: How Eggshells Can Boost Your Home and Garden
Most people toss eggshells without a second thought, but with a little preparation, these calcium-packed shells can become a surprisingly useful resource. Sturdy and natural, eggshells are perfect for a variety of everyday household and garden tasks — and reusing them is an easy way to cut waste without spending a dime.
Clean and Prep Before Use
Before putting eggshells to work, sanitizing them is essential. Rinse off any leftover egg whites, then place the shells in a pot of water and bring it to a gentle boil for 10–15 minutes. This simple step ensures they’re clean and safe for crushing, grinding, or other household applications.
