At seventeen, my life divided cleanly into two parts: before the accident and everything after.

Before it happened, I was just a regular teenager. I worried about small things—what I’d wear to prom, whether I’d be noticed, whether I’d even be asked to dance. Life felt simple, almost predictable.

Then everything changed in seconds. A drunk driver ran a red light. No warning. No time to react. Just impact, chaos, and silence broken by sirens.
