Thomson passed away at 61 on Sunday, surrounded by her family, after a brave battle with cancer. Her career spanned more than three decades, leaving an indelible mark on Canadian media.
She began as a reporter for CTV News Toronto, rising through the ranks to anchor on the CTV News Channel. Earlier, from 1997 to 2003, she served as a news anchor for Global News, establishing herself as a trusted, authoritative presence.
