Hockey Community Mourns the Tragic Loss of Jessi Pierce and Her Children

The hockey world is in shock after a devastating house fire in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, claimed the lives of beloved NHL reporter Jessi Pierce and her three young children. Pierce, 37, along with Hudson, 8, Cayden, 6, and Avery, 4, perished in the fast-moving blaze early Saturday morning. The family dog also tragically died in the fire.

A Sudden and Heartbreaking Tragedy

Jessi Pierce, known as a “ray of sunshine,” and her children were taken far too soon, sending waves of grief across the hockey community. Firefighters responded to frantic 911 calls from neighbors who reported flames shooting from the roof and feared people were trapped inside. By the time first responders arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames.

Neighbor Julie Andrus recalled the terrifying moment: “We were sleeping. By the time the cops woke us, it was like a tornado of smoke.” She remembered the family fondly, describing them as “so nice” and recalling the children playing happily outside.
