Meetings that ran late. Doors closing more often. Conversations stopping mid-sentence when someone walked in. Laughter that felt slightly out of place.

She was quiet, kept to herself, and seemed to be around more than expected. She stayed late, attended meetings beyond her role, and appeared in places that raised eyebrows.
