Iran Strikes Back After U.S. Military Action — Here’s How Tehran Responded

UN Emergency Session
At an emergency UN session, Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani condemned the airstrikes, calling them a violation of international law and Article Two of the UN Charter. He warned the U.S. to “be polite,” framing Iran’s response as a lawful act of self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter.

U.S. Ambassador Mike Waltz fired back, calling the attacks “unprovoked” and highlighting Iran’s history of human rights violations. He stressed that the strikes were necessary to prevent Iran from threatening the world with nuclear weapons.

Global Reactions
UN Secretary-General António Guterres condemned both sides, calling the situation a grave threat to international peace and security. “There is no viable alternative to the peace settlement of international disputes,” he said, urging diplomacy over escalation.

Both Washington and Tehran signaled that the conflict could intensify in the coming weeks, leaving global leaders and civilians on edge as tensions reach new heights.
