What Happened at a Billionaire’s Home Changed Everything

CHAPTER 2: The Offer

Later, when Nathaniel slept, Elias carefully cleaned Maya’s wound. His hands trembled.

“You stopped him,” he said quietly.

“I didn’t stop him,” Maya replied. “I stayed with him until he stopped himself.”

The therapist began to talk about rules and distance. Elias cut her off.

“You’ve had months. She had minutes.”

Maya met his gaze. “He doesn’t need fear of losing people. He needs proof someone stays.”

Elias looked at his son’s peaceful face. “Then stay,” he said. “Please.”

Maya hesitated, then nodded. “If it’s what he needs.”
