My story with Theo began with what felt like fate. We collided in a busy coffee shop over an oat milk latte, and instead of irritation, he smiled—warm, magnetic, completely disarming. He had a way of making everyone feel like the center of his universe, remembering small details that made life feel extraordinary. I fell fast, convinced destiny was on our side.

Winning Over the Family

Theo charmed my parents effortlessly. My mother prepared her signature pot roast, and my father, a retired principal with a talent for spotting insincerity, was immediately won over. Within an evening, Theo had earned their trust and admiration. When he proposed in a blooming garden a year later, “forever” seemed inevitable.

A Warning Ignored

Two nights before the wedding, a drunken call from one of Theo’s friends hinted at a hidden plan. “Be careful… he’s planning something,” the slurred warning said. I dismissed it, attributing it to pre-wedding antics, never imagining the humiliation that lay ahead.

The Wedding Day Disaster

Our wedding was exquisite—a rose bower ceremony, reception by a glittering pool, and a gown fit for a fairy tale. Theo’s charm was on full display, until he grabbed the microphone and called me over for a “surprise.”

Before I could react, his hands pushed me into the pool. The satin gown weighed me down, the veil pulled me under, and my heels caught on the pool floor. I surfaced, gasping, to find Theo doubled over with laughter, oblivious to the danger and humiliation he had caused.

Guests were stunned. My father’s fury cut through the chaos as I struggled out of the pool, my dress ruined and dignity shattered. Theo continued to chuckle, claiming it was funny, but the warning I had received suddenly made sense. This wasn’t a prank—it was a blatant betrayal.
