A shocking incident on the North Wildwood Boardwalk at the Jersey Shore has ignited a nationwide conversation about animal cruelty, justice, and rehabilitation. The case revolves around 30-year-old Franklin Ziegler, who admitted to killing a seagull in broad daylight while families and children looked on.
What Happened on the Boardwalk
On July 6, 2024, what should have been a typical summer day turned disturbing. Ziegler reportedly became upset after a seagull tried to snatch a French fry from his daughter. Witnesses say he killed the bird in full view of bystanders, later holding the body and asking staff for a trash bag.
