Former ESPN personality Sarah Spain recently spoke about an uncomfortable moment she experienced while attending a Winter Olympics hockey game, where she ended up seated near U.S. Vice President JD Vance.

On her podcast, the journalist described feeling uneasy after security personnel suddenly filled the area around her seats during a game featuring Team USA and Switzerland. According to Spain, the unexpected security presence disrupted the atmosphere and made it difficult to fully enjoy the match.

Heavy Security Presence Draws Attention

The encounter took place shortly after the Olympic opening ceremony at San Siro, where Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, were seen waving to the crowd. The moment was captured on camera and reportedly met with a mixed response from spectators, including both cheers and audible disapproval.

Spain later explained that during the hockey game, a large group of security agents arrived in her section as Vance entered the seating area, followed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. She said the sudden influx of personnel changed the vibe of the arena and made the experience feel tense.
