Family Speaks Out After Tragic Shooting at Rhode Island High School Hockey Game

The family of Roberta Dorgan has released a public statement following the devastating shooting at the Dennis M. Lynch Arena in Pawtucket, Rhode Island — a tragedy that has shaken the local community and left multiple families grieving.

Authorities say the incident occurred during a high school hockey game, when Dorgan entered the arena and opened fire. The attack claimed the lives of 23-year-old Aidan Dorgan and 52-year-old Rhonda Dorgan. Several others were seriously injured, including Rhonda’s parents, Linda and Gerald Dorgan, as well as family friend Thomas Geruso. Those injured were transported to nearby hospitals and remain in critical condition.

According to Pawtucket Police Chief Tina Goncalves, the suspect was identified as Robert Dorgan, who also went by Roberta Dorgan and Roberta Esposito. Officials confirmed that the individual later died at the scene from what appeared to be a self-inflicted injury. Two firearms were recovered during the investigation.
